|  Thanks for the help Skull, i ran the sis soft sandra 2001 pro " without" the ATA Ultra drivers from the asus cd installed and benchmarked the harddrive ( WD 30gig ATA 66) and scored a low 5960..... so i hooked up the promise controller card as you suggested and redid the benchmark and scored a 21,238 ! quite a difference and this way i can put the cdrom/cdrw on their own ide controller. is that score pretty much normal now? thanks again stanger |
