| mule, and anfo1369, thanks for the reply.. This is what the bios is reading: hdd type :auto cyl: 1024 head:255 sec: 63 CHS cap: 8422 mb max LBA cap: 33820 mb I should see : 40981 mb in that field. As the computer boots, the screen posts 33820 mb. udma 4 the same size i get from the bios info. My OS is win98SE, HDD Maxtor Diamond Max Model # 54098u8. upgraded the M.B. bios several times up to 006 Beta 1. I used fdisk to set up drive but it also would only see 33820mb. Had to use Max Blast to get the full size. The Maxtor web site claims that there is a 32g limitatiions on some Awards bios. older bios prehaps, but why this problem on a bios of under two years? |
