That drive had crashed so bad that it caused a BSOD, and I couldn't boot WindowsXP until disconnected it from the IDE cable and powercable.

Backup what data you can, and transfer it to the new drive when it comes, and keep the bad drive disconnected if need be.
installing my new SATA drive tonite i should almost reinstall XP and try out raid since i will have 2 80Gb seagates (same model) but i don't think i will do that

Now I gotta spend $50.00 to get an Ultra 133 IDE card to replace my Ultra 100 card, which is going bad. Noticed when I have multiple directories open, or open a directory to listen to MP3's, WindowsXP will also access my optical drives, and that shouldn't be happening. I believe it to be a conflict between my dying Ultra 100 card, and the onboard Intel ATA 100 controller.

i get this error when logging off
Quote:
Windows saved user BANANA\Brandon registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.

This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.
these are in there quite a few times

I've got 2 SATA ports on my motherboard, and if I go all SATA I can get a controller card for an additional 2 or 4 SATA ports. I've seen SATA controllers with 4 ports on them.

Maybe I should go all SATA, except hold off on doing that until sometime this fall.

I notice if I overclock my cpu, for some reason performance actually goes down.
