| Hi. I have an Asus CUSL2-C and an IBM 75GXP hdd. I am currently running Win2K professional. The only thing I installed from the Asus CD was the "INF Update Utility for 815 Chipset." For optimal performance is there anything else I should install? What's the deal with the ATA100? Should I install the "Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver"? Or should I wait until SP2? And how about Win98SE? What do I do to have ATA100 working on 98SE? Thank for your time. |

| The INF update is not enough to get ATA100 support in Win2K, it is only the first step so to speak. AFAIK, there are two ways to get ATA100: either by installing the Win2K ATA100 hotfix (which will be included in SP2), or by installing the Intel Ultra ATA storage drivers. I don't know if Win98SE supports ATA100 without installing any drivers. But you can install the Intel Ultra ATA Storage drivers, and you'll get ATA100 support for sure. |
