| NEC's stats show that the drive is actually faster with -R and -RW DVDs than the Plextor, but slower with CD-R and CD-RW. Still I guess you won't be looking at too many CD-RWs once you have a DVD+ RW so the 24x vs 16x CD-RW speed won't matter, and 32x is not bad for CD-R. One and only NEC drive I had was an old SCSI 4X CD-ROM back in the day when CD-ROM was new! That was a speed demon back then! Good luck!
