Raptor formating / security question

I can't tell if this question best belongs in this forum or the security forum. Mods, please do as you will with this thread.

I have this Raptor 150 drive sitting around that used to be in a previous computer. this hard drive back at the time suffered a nasty trojan infection. I think I got it cleaned up. But in these days of polymorphic malware, who can be sure.

So, I am thinking I would like to use this Raptor as a dedicated pagefile / temp file drive in my current gaming rig. But before I add this drive to the system I want to feel fairly certain it is a clean drive.

Considering the previous trojan, do you folks think if I partition and format it I should be ok / good to go?

Or should I use the Western Digital software to first write zeros to the entire drive and then partition and format?

Format it and be done with it.

I'd use WD lifeguard diagnostic tool to write zero's to the drive just to be sure. Downloads
