| Re: Seagate vs. Western Digital What's kind of odd is that I'm running a bunch of Maxtor's (made by Seagate) in two systems, one of which is in my recording studio. I've got some WD's in those systems, too, and they're all pretty quiet. Last year when I was still working at the radio station IT installed a Seagate in the box that was in my studio at the station. Dang, but that was a noisy drive. It sounded like a hair dryer spinning up. The Maxtor's though...can't hear 'em. All the WD's and the Maxtors have been stone reliable, though. Knock on wood...
