| Since I run all of our YS drives in Raid arrays, we're using the 20c06 or whatever it is firmware because of the raid problems they had on the old firmware. I can tell you that I've seen some drives have to go through a chkdsk to fix some errors after the firmware update. I don't know what causes it but in about 40% of the machines we built it needed a quick check to clean the drives up after the update. |

| I just ran the update on my two RE2 YS drives. I ran the update from a floppy disk with only one RE2 YS drive plugged in at a time. Everything was going well when the DOS screen suddenly said ERROR and that it could not write some file. I ran the update utility again and it says that the firmware had been updated. This happened exactly the same on each of the drive updates. However, each drive is running fine in windows right now. What happened? Did anyone else get error messages at the end of the update? Should I be worried? ![]() __________________ Asus P4P800 Deluxe Intel P4 3.2 Extreme Edition @ 3.47 / Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu / Arctic Silver Ceramique 2x512 Mushkin PC3500 222 Black Hi Performance Level II ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon X800 XT / Samsung Syncmaster 215TW 21" Wide Screen LCD Two Western Digital RE2 500 Gb YS Raid Edition SATA hdd's Two Western Digital 250 Gb Raid Edition hdd's Two Western Digital My Book 500 Gb external USB2/Firewire hard drives LiteOn 165H6S DVD Super AllWriter / LiteOn 166s 16x DVD-Rom Onboard LAN Antec SX1240 full tower Soundblaster Audigy 2 zs Platinum / CambridgeSoundworks 5.1 DTT 3500 Digital Speakers Logitech G5 Laser Mouse Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard Razer eXactMat + eXactRest win2000 |
