| Media Player Auto-start and runs in Background (!?) i will post screen shots if someone tells me how. Start Win7 (Home ed.) and start Task Manager. Seems that Win7 automatically starts a media player sideshow "gadget" AND Media player EVERYTIME Win7 starts. Look on Task Bar but media center is Not OPEN (!?), simply running in the background DRAINING resources. I can manually "end process" the gadget and media center to stop the drain and Win7 seems to still run OK. Maybe these auto-start programs support "pre-view" in Win Explorer (?) I looked at all the options, startup folder, and Run (regedit) but there is no obvious way to stop this from happening. I would simply uninstall media player, but then media Center won't work. Looks like i MUST allow media player to run in the background Everytime i use Win7, OR lose media player And media Center. Anyone have any insight on this ? Should i add this to my list of reasons to hate microsoft |

| Re: Media Player Auto-start and runs in Background (!?) To save a screen shot go to start and type "snipping tool" in the search box. Once you have the screen shot save it somewhere so you can find it. Start a new post in this thread, click on manage file attachments and add the screen shot. One thing to try. Open Media Center, go to settings, general, startup, window behavior and make sure start media center when windows starts is not checked. BTW did you install media center Internet TV? It uses gadgets.
