| 1st grader hands out cocaine in class.... http://shortnews.com/start.cfm?id=46...=1%20&sparte=4 First-Grader Hands Out Crack Cocaine to Classmates Thinking it is Candy When a little first-grader at Chicago Heights Elementary brought in candy and began handing it out to his friends teachers called in the police. The first-grader had brought in dozens of bags of crack cocaine and was passing them out to classmates. "He lives in a household where apparently there's drug dealing, and when he sees these little bags of rock cocaine around the house, they're telling him it's candy," said the Deputy Police Chief of Chicago Heights, Michael Camilli. The little boy, aged 6 or 7, will not be disciplined since he had no idea of what he was doing. "He was a darling little child; he had no idea of what he had. The ruckus, I'm sure, upset him. It breaks your heart to see that." said Supt. Dollie Helsel Source: www.suntimes.com

| That's just nasty. I hope all the adult home occupants get harsh sentences, but unfortunately that would mean the kid would become an orpahan. However, that might be for the best - who knows when a home guest would become paranoid/violent and start beating on the poor kid? I'm sure DCFS is already involved and the kid is in a foster home. In this case, that might not necessarily be a bad thing. |
