| Driver's education? Help guys. I am about to take my driver's ed course. A bit late in life, but, better late than never. What happens if you fail a driver's ed course? Do you have to pay to take the whole class again? Please provide as much info, suggestions, and feedback as possible. I don't have much $$$ to spend and want to make this as effortless as possible. Thanks so much guys.

| hum what happened with me was this: you pay $$$ to get in every saturday you go to this place listen to a guy do a lesson then do a quiz on what he said... after that on another day you get a driving lesson for a few hours .... the instructor writes down some stuff and thats it... on the last driving lesson you do a sort of test and you have to pass it. in order to pass the drivers ed i had to have above 70+% avg (or something like that) on the quizzes and i had to pass the driving If you fail you get to do it all over again and yes you had to pay. I did it once

| This is for after you get your license: Ask your insurance company if they give a 20% discount for doing the TeenSmart computer driving courses. It comes on 6 CD's and costs $90, but you'll save more than that the first year alone! Both of my kids have done it. http://adeptdriver.com/faq.htm

In Michigan, Drivers Education is a course in common sense; IE- If it is icy outside, what changes should you make to your driving? a) Go faster\more sudden movements b) go faster\less sudden movements c) go slower\more sudden movements d) go slower\less sudden movements e) none of the above are correct. You should be fine.

I haven't taken a test for about 3 years. Do you think I will have any trouble with any of these quizzes? Oh, BTW. The Learner's Permit was absolutely nothing. I got 17/20 on that. Finished it in less than 5 min.

Re the "what happens" question... IF you fail..(don't assume that you will!)...the particular area that was not of passing grade will be identified, i.e. practical or written...obviously the approach to correcting an issue is different with each. The driving school I went to was a private one (many..too many, lol)....years ago in Connecticut. I believe the fellow who ran it would continue to work with you at no additional charge if your first attempt was not a pass. You did not mention...is your driver's ed private or state-sponsored....you may want want to call them and inquire if it is a private school...a state school should work with you without condition IMO. Plenty of people, whether they are attempting thjis early or late in life need to re-take some part of the exam for relatively minor reasons....it's no big deal to do it twice or three times if needed...just relax and take it for what it is...a new life-experience...it's the best advice I can offer (Oh, and study that little manual with the traffic laws like crazy! )
