| Dual processor questions. i was thinking about buying an old mac g4. i see a lot of them on ebay with dual processor configurations. my question is this: if i buy a dual 450mhz system, and i need to run a program with a minimum requirement of say 800mhz, will it work? how do older dual processor systems compare to single core/ single processor systems?

| i doubt it unless the program supports 2 cpu's. |

| You can not just add the processor frequency to get whatever they are combined. Believe me when I say that dual processors speed things up, but not as much as doubling the frequency of a single processor.

| thanks for the heads up. i didn't really expect to just add both processors, so I'm not really surprised. I'll probably buy a old dual system anyway, just to muck around with.
