Harry Potter fans, the rumors are true: Albus Dumbledore, master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay. J.K. Rowling, author of the mega-selling fantasy series that ended last summer, outed the beloved character

Rowling explained that Dumbledore was smitten with rival Gellert Grindelwald, whom he defeated long ago in a battle between good and bad wizards. "Falling in love can blind us to an extent," Rowling said of Dumbledore's feelings, adding that Dumbledore was "horribly, terribly let down."

Dumbledore's love, she observed, was his "great tragedy."...

I haven't read any of the books, but I have a feeling that those who will scream to high heaven about they gayness aren't too fond of the whole wizardry thing in the first place. If not, I bet this is the straw that breaks the fundamentalist camel's back.

Does smell a bit of "market adjustment" not to put the gayitude in the book, though.

I am on the fifth book. I actually started to read them early on this year. Each book gets better and more professional in literature. Not to mention it becomes a bit more complex so an adult can enjoy reading them as they progress through the years.

She said the 7th book would be the last. Seeing is how she is stil making up stories about the characters, I douby it will be the last. I always felt she would miss the characters too much to walk away. I could see another book being written in the pre-harry potter time frame. Somewhere around the time when James and Lilly were going to school. Possibly a book even earlier about the formation of the school and the falling out of its four founders.

Hollywood will love a bunch of prequels and sequels and give-me-a-breaquels. Anything to keep them from coming up with original ideas.
