i was at a show where they demostrated a sonic boom about 10 years ago, it was really cool.

and i saw the thunderbirds perform 2 years ago, they are pretty good, they do all the same stuff as the blue angels, just a little slower.

Supdawg,
depending on where the wind is that day, you may never even see or hear a plane

Here you have two nice videos:

In this one you can clearly see the "cone" around the plane in slow mo, but there's no sound.

In this there's no visible "cone", but has great sound.

Enjoy.

That's the "sonic barrier" IIRC and it can cause severe turbulence in aircraft not specifically designed to penetrate it.

In regards to the noise, I hear ya SupDawg. It's the "tearing/ripping" noise the engines make as they bank steeply that's so loud. My parents live very close to an Air Force base (CFB Shearwater) and they get the show every year. Several years ago the noise spooked their neighbor's dog, who ran out into the street and was run over right in front of the neighbor's 9-year-old daughter.

Thanks guys. Today was pretty good, I was not awakened by the jets today so I am very happy. It's a beautiful day so it's all good. I don't mind the show, as long as they don't wake me up from my beauty sleep lol.
