I'm thinking I would stay away from that McDonalds! Something about bugs in your food, makes you want to get sick! Yuck!

Re: Fresh Fly with your Big Mac?

Well, it isn't all Micky D locations, just the one mentioned. I kind of doubt that they'd have gotten as big as they are by regularly serving bugs with your food.
Really, it could have happened to anyone at anytime.

Re: Fresh Fly with your Big Mac?

Have you tried Kefir? It is not a brand, but there are brands of Kefir. Give it a try. It is similar to yogurt, but better is so many ways.

Re: Fresh Fly with your Big Mac?

Kefir and other edible soured milk products are ace. They sell a lot of it here in Sweden, the family name for such products is "fil" (pronounced like feel). Nice tangy acidity and with a consistency like yoghurt. Like it a lot.

Re: Fresh Fly with your Big Mac?

I used to drink Kefir quite a bit many years ago. I might have to take it up again. Considering that nasty little cancer scare I had began at the junction of my esophagus and stomach beneficiant organisms partying in that region would probably be a good thing.

OK, so a one-chance-in-four of seeing 2008 back in 2006 was a bit more than a "little" cancer scare.
As long as I don't get hit by a bus over the next couple of weeks I'll have beaten the odds.

So wait, *one* McDonalds, on *one* occasion, had a problem with their food, so you are going to blacklist EVERY SINGLE McDonalds on the planet for this?

In not understanding your logic on this one thing, I fail to understand anything you or anyone in your family lineage has ever thought of or will ever think of.

You should have just complained to the manager, probably gotten some free food, and got on with your life.

But hey, picking on the fast food companies is FAR more fun and productive.

Re: Fresh Fly with your Big Mac?

I will go there for breakfast occasionally. I like the egg mcmuffins and hash browns (even though they are not near as good since they no longer use peanut oil, same with the fries) I do not eat the lunch food anymore it plain makes me sick. I would hit the dollar menu every now and then when short on cash, but last time I did I wanted to hork so the thought of it doesn't appeal anymore. I am far from a heath conscious eater just I think I can do better. I will drive a couple miles past Mcd's to go to Wendy's for example.

I'm a fanboy of the grease free EggMcMuffin. Just wish they would toast the muffin a bit more.

By the way, who here hasn't ate a bug before?

Complaining about food ANYWHERE is an invitation to retribution from the back room. There's no end to mischief done by "chefs" in response to complaints. Much of it is gross and some is genuinely unhealthy. I didn't want any more of McD's food.

A few months earlier I ate in the same shopping center at a pizza restaurant, part of a chain. In there, the "clean" "silverware" and plates had more dirty than clean examples. I called Baltimore County health offices about this; they said they would check it out and get back to me. They never did.

Since being served the fly, I have not eaten anywhere in Baltimore County. Yes, I'm sure there are good, clean restaurants in the county, but why eat in the next county when its health department is ineffective?

When I reported a restaurant in Howard County (where I reside) to the health department, they visited the establishment, corrected the problem, AND got back to me. I continue to patronize that restaurant.

It's good when your government responds positively. After all, their only competition is the government next door. Not an easy transition for anybody.
