This is really ditrubing. I don't remember in the Rules or user agreement anywhere that by becoming a member, you sign away your first amendment rights on the WWW. That is what you are saying. If you feel he disrespected you there, take the fight there, but don't use your position here to get revenge. This is round two of "taking precautionary measures" against a threat that doesn't exist. In the last one we lost Traveler, Monkey Hanger, and others. We are all big boys aren't we? If he said something about you, deal with it one on one. Don't drag your buds into the fight and justify banning him because he chooses to speak his mind on the WWW, which I am pretty sure he is allowed to do.

Hell, if somone begins to talk behind my back in real life, I expect an apology and explanation too.

Why should this be tolerated? A simple sorry is all the admins want. It makes total sense. There are many cases where somone would say something like what FB said, stress, under the influence of drugs, or whatever, but they did not mean it. In these cases, you just apologize and move on. I don't see what the big fuss is about? All the staff wants is an apology, if I was FB and said that I'de apologize. I don't know, but if I was FB I wouldn't be able to live without abxzone for more then a day. Even if I was disrespectful and bad mannered now, I'de sleep it off and probably wake up the next day ready to apologize and accept the facts.

I have no more to say on this subject. When FB decides to be a man and apologize to those he slurred behind their backs, he will be welcome back here again. And, to repeat, he is not banned.

A healthy discussion is a good thing. Keeping quiet as if nothing happened and as if the person never existed is not healthy.

I think *everybody* should get to bed and stop debating this. Talking about it just gets everybody worked up. Please *everybody* (me, FB, mods, members, everybody) give some hours to chill out and come back to it fresh.

one more thing...

even if FB apologizes it will only be because he is being forced to in order to get out of the "penalty box"...will the offended mods really feel better after that or is it more of the principle of the apology?...I would rather get a sincere apology rather then a forced conditional apology

If that is all it was, then people really need to grow thicker skin. I have been called much worse, and by people who like me! Seems a little silly and playgroundish to let name calling be this big a deal, WHEN IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS SITE! I happen to know where he was posting, so I found it. I doubt the average person would go there, so your reputation here wasn't damaged at all. The same can't be said for the resulting drama.
