Sounds like fun Squire JaGWiRE! I'm messing with a SONY LCD 26" Bravia XRB TV. I'm using it as a monitor, its has 8m response time.
I took back the 32" Samsung and paid a couple hundred more for this one. This is quite a monitor/tv.

Yes, those bravia XBR's are of the finest, I have doen my homework on this subject, and if you have the money, it's worth it.

I'm probably going to go with the Samsung 23 or 26 inch because of price. It will be for watching dvd's, and media from my pc, and for my xbox 360 and other consoles . I can't convicne my parents atm to buy me one now, but they said after my barmitzvah this summer I can get the TV if i'de like , maybe even will go for the bravia, who knows. I also want to get some speakers, new headphones, the media center works, upgrade my cpu, buy lots of books, go all out . Avsforum.com have some info on tweeking your tv for use as a monitor I believe. I don't care what the Windows Desktop looks like, I want to know what dvd's and media looks like on it, have you tried any DIVX files or dvd's from your pc on it yet? Also, are you using HDMI-DVI or VGA? I heard HDMI-DVI can produce better image, but has it's flaws too.

BTW, I've been watching this show called The Office, there are two versions, American and UK. They are both written by the same guy (Ricky Gervais, hilarious guy, he has a podcast, but it's now costing money, I think i'll pay the 2 bucks for an episode though, he's worth it.) He plays the main character in the UK version, but I was watching the American version, and in the first episode, there is this hilarious scene with the boss (main character) using the grasshopper phrase.

To answer you questions, I've only had this TV 24 hrs. I'm still learning to use it. I have watched a movie in HDTV, using HDMI-DVI. It was the best I've seen on any LCD period. Haven't watched anything in DVD yet. The sound is just great for the built-in speakers. I do have 5.1 surround system. This does work a lot nicer as a monitor in the 26" size. 32" was just to big!! This thing does have all the bells & whistles. Now I need to set my lab up so's I can watch TV & surf the net.

Good Friday Evening, [ABX]Gang!

Other than the TOTALLY IRRITATING lack of snow this winter, things are pretty good down here in AZ. Unfortunately, I've had 2 people close to me pass on in the last 2 weeks, and had to go to 2 memorial services in 3 days. Both gatherings were celebrations of lives well-lived, but I'm still going to miss them.

On a positive note, my business has been doing better than ever, and my son just closed escrow on his first home!

So, as always, life goes on...

Heh, I've been in the stores, and 26 inches are the best sized tv's for what I want to do as well. 32 inches is huge, I wish they sold 24 inches and 28 inches, that would be spectacular. I've seen pictures of the Samsung used are as a computer monitor, it seems sort uf washed out and blurry in the pictures, did you have the same? Is this just common for lcd tv's?

SKI, Sorry to hear about the passing aways, great to hear about your business and son. I'm sure it's been tough for you guys, I've heard on a podcast what it was like for a guy purchasing his first house (he purchased it), so I can only imagine with your situation what it was like.

I just watched season 1 of The Office, the American version. I then watched Season 1 of The Office, the UK version. Ricky Gervais is hilarious, I think Steve Carell is funny too, but Steve is overdoing it in my opinion. I'm not sure if you watch it, but you are from the UK, and Ricky is from the UK. I just listened to season 1 of his podcast, and am thinking about purchasing season 2 episodes because he is so hilarious. Also been considering picking up his cartoon book, just for the laughs of course .
