GREAT game last night!!!!

It's been a while since I was thoroughly entertained by a National Championship basketball game......

Too many games where one team simply played awful----or got cold for no reason and it quickly got out of hand......boring.....

But last night----WOW!

Two well coached teams that were a total contrast in styles....

Kansas----the old fasioned "in the paint" power team and
Memphis with the new Dribble/Drive offense.

Played one whale of a Basketball game!!

The lead changed hands 9 times and no team was up by more than 8 at ANY point....

And I was especially impressed by the sportsmanship displayed by both teams---extending hands to help a player up, etc....

None of the pound your chest thuggery which seems so prevalent in games today......

A fabulous "shot of the tournament" by each team.....

And a miraculous comeback by Kansas to bring the game to overtime.

Memphis had 'em----but couldn't make the free throws when the HAD to have them......

Congratulations to the Jayhaws from a true blue Nebraska Cornhusker!!!

Re: GREAT game last night!!!!

That's probably why they should have fouled instead of letting Kansas hitting a game tying 3 pointer...
But I agree, it was a well played game.

supposedly----Calipari issued orders to foul so Kansas would have to shoot free throws (at the most two points)...

A totally logical move that I would have made myself----I mean I most likely would get the ball back----up by one----with just 5 or 6 seconds left---a GREAT spot to be in....

and his team failed to heed his instructions.....

No one fouled----they just played defense on those two Kansas kids----and Chalmers was lucky enough to get a shot off.

Memphis was a VERY GOOD team----not a GREAT team....

Great teams hit their free throws done the stretch and execute their coaches strategies.....

But MAN those kids ARE athletic!!!
