| Grrrr, ebay buyer.... ok, partly my fault for ending my auction early, but someone was interested in the wheels i was selling and i offered them to him at the reserve price of the auction and he said that was fine. then i ended the auction (it lists him as the winner). he has no feedback, but considering the amount of good communication we were having i didn't see that as a problem. now here is the issue, he takes several days to get back to me now, he said he was having problems with paypal and would let me know when the money got sent. well on monday he said he had a check he deposited in his bank account that bounced and it might be a while longer before he could pay. This is not acceptable for me because i need to get the wheels out of my apartment i am sick of tripping over them and i need the cash. i also posted a link to this auction to this auction over at regalgs.org and i have another offer from a member who asked if the guy ever came thru because of his 0 feedback rating. i told him he hasn't and he said my price is just fine and he can send the money asap. what do i do??

| I think by ebay rules the buyer has 7 or 10 days to pay after auction ends, unless you state different in the ad. You don't want a newbie screwing up your feedback because of something like this. I would wait a day or two to see if you hear from him. He should just be honest with you and tell when we expects to have the money. If I need something on Ebay and don't have the funds, I always email the seller about the situation before bidding.

| Did you specify a payment due by time? I like to make "buy it Now" require instant payment and everything else payment due in 72 hours. If the buyer doesn't comply to the legal contract he agreed to I'd do as you please.

| FB I have sold and bought many items on ebay and have had a situation similar to yours. There are ebay guidelines on how long you should wait for payment. Send a payment reminder to the individual stating that payment must be made by a certain date. If not you will be offering a "second chance" to another buyer. Will the other person interested in the wheels wait for the few days you would give the original winner? If so then if you don't get the money from the 1st bidder you'll get it from the other one. Unfortunately if the 1st bidder doesn't think you gave him anough time to pay he may give you negative feedback. You should state in your auctions when payment is expected but try to be a little flexable for actual problems (get a better feedback profile that way).

| IMO, if you said five days, you have to give him five days. If he reneges, be sure to leave him some neg feedback.

| If it's been 5 days and he has not remitted payment go ahead and sell to the other. Two things ring alarm bells to me about the 1st bidder. 1) He had "trouble with PayPal", I find this is an excuse used to delay or get out of paying for an auction (buyer remorse), 2) email is now starting to bounce back. Smells fishy Also even if the person gives you a negative you can respond in your feedback and state they where a non-paying bidder. People will see they had a zero feedback rating (or -1 if you give them a neg) and will assume a non-payer.
