It's time for another weather report.

Hot.

It's hot here. With occasional rain.

Many thanks to the inventor of air conditioning.

GAWD, don't talk about air-conditioning! My condenser fan motor and relay died today (102f and light rain showers). It cost me $500+ US to get if fixed (quick response: the AC was down for 4 hrs total). That's the price you pay when you're not in condition to do your own repairs: hopefully that's the LAST punishment for my knee surgery  At least now everything's again (LOL).

Knee's still a bit sore and weak: to be expected after ACL reconstruction. I'm exercising regularly, paying the price for my fun. The length of time needed for rehab is a drag, but I MIGHT be able to do a bit of "low-performance" skiing this winter. BTW, willing to "sacrifice a virgin" (there goes my love-life!) IF IT'LL GET ME SKIING SOONER! (ROFL) I'll probably have to use a brace to protect the joint for a year or two... Maybe it'll be good for some feminine sympathy!

Enjoy the vacation.. I spent mine studying for final exams I did meet a nice girl in my Network+ class, though! And I'm going trout fishing weekend after next Life's an endless series of ups and downs ...

BTW, got to edit my avatar... my helmet's BLACK, not YELLOW!

Wish you well on that recovery SKI - sounds like you want to get back too it a little TOO much for what you've been thru'.
Don't do it again...

The weather here SUCKS - we had a heat advisory yesterday - heat index was 110 f. That means don't go outside and if you do, try not to move....

Hey Ozzie,
I'm DEFINITELY done jumping off stuff while skiing! I guess age is finally catching up with me: either that or I'm "growing up" (LOL). At least I don't do the same injury over and over. Sometimes it feels like I'm going to medical school in slow motion though. I was pretty cautious as a child... looks like I got over THAT

Well here in sunny South Carolina we are enjoyed some beautiful July weather 34-35 C and 90+ % humidity...Gee, I sure miss West Texas and Arizona, where it was dry...can stand the heat without the humidity...

SKI

It hurts just THINKING about it. I have seen too many that were gung-ho and couldn't wait (the get back on the horse thing).

Seems like most don't learn that the ol' bod can't take what it used to and end up doing it again.

It's a bitch getting old and realizing that - especially when the young studs are so full of **** & vinegar...and fearless.

Wisdom comes with age...you look at something and say...nahh, I don't think so.

What's the old saying?

I'm not as good as I ONCE was, but I'm as good ONCE as I ever was...

Hey Ozzie,

Ain't it the truth... Time seems to have snuck up on me. As P.J. O'Rourke says, "Age and guile beat youth and a bad haircut...".

The sad thing is that I know better than to take a jump without checking out the landing first. Basically I neglected my "Prime Directive" (Engage Brain before Risking Body). Ah well, I made a mistake and I can't go back in time to undo it. So I'm dealing with the consequences, having learned another lesson. Overall I can't complain. I've seen much worse injuries than mine: this is much easier to deal with than what Skull's going through, for instance.

As ol' Dirty Harry said, "A man's got to know his limitations." Guess I've found one of mine.

BTW, not to change the subject, but I'm thinking about putting in a Digital Doc 5 in my rig. All those rpm sensing Panaflo fans I picked up seem like a natural for this. I seem to remember you mentioning something about them...any thoughts? TIA

They ARE nice but since I've chosen to go the water route my need for fans has diminished greatly and no longer have the need.

Demenace is our resident expert on the Digi Doc - he's got it dialled in and pushing the envelope on how to use it.

Maybe pm him or start a thread in cooling with his name on it?
He'll find it and I'm sure he'll be happy to help.
