I like this term- PEBKAC

"Problem exists between keyboard and chair"

I saw it on a broadcast engineering board, but I like it. As a part time IT'er, I now have a technical term for most of my problems.

It's been around for quite a while and is the reason for ~1/2 of IT's problems (well, the HelpDesk's tickets really).

In the flight testing dept. at the local defense contractor they have a similar term for pilot errors which would translate to CBTS or Crap Behind The Stick.

There is a list of how malfunction codes we use in the AF maintenance to sign off jobs. One of them is actually called "pilot error." I've never seen anybody use it though. Some people get ticked off when it gets used.
