| I pack a Sig-Sauer 9mm P226. I like the control and the capacity offered by it. I'm thinking about a .357 Magnum 4" or possibly another semi-auto. If I did so semi I think I might look into a nice .40 cal. At any rate! Welcome home! Your guns missed you!

| Thanks MocoMan! The P226 is a nice gun. I've never really gotten a chance to work with the Sigs but I would like to. I love the .357 Magnum. What a great all-around round. My first gun (which I stupidly sold) was a S&W Model 27. I have a Colt King Cobra that my wife bought for my birthday.

| When i was in the army i had the Swedish version of H&K G3 A3 which really kicked *** on automatic - it was a really fun weapon but not so useful because of the recoil and no 3-shot burst mode. I also had a Glock 17 pistol. My hunting weapons was a 6.5 mm rebuilt old Swedish model 1896 rifle (designed in the year 1896) which was very accurate and good for hunting moose. I also had a finnish 2-barrel Tikka 222 remington/12 caliber shotgun which was very heavy. But in the mid 90s i got a new neighbor who was very afraid of weapons and every time i picked them out to go hunting or to the shooting range he got panic so i sold all weapons. Actually i also got tired of hunting because when you shoot a big moose you also have to carry the meat home and it really weighs a lot even if you are several persons carrying it - its a lot simpler to buy the meat at the local store

Not much you can do for those people and I certainly wouldn't give up my firearms just to placate their irrational fears. Hunting moose sounds like a lot of fun. The way I'd do it is to hire a guide that would take me up in the area, field dress the kill and pack it out for me. It's no problem field dressing a Central Texas Whitetail oneself because even the bucks aren't that big, but if I were to hunt something bigger I'd go the guide route. All the fun and none of the work. Besides, the guides are also generally very pleasant company. | |

![]() I like the 22-250 and 243 for varmit rounds. We recently used some (I think 60 grain loads) on the 22-250 and we figure it was close to 4,000FPS. At that speed they call it 'The Red Mist' iirc. When I get some $ I'll enter the .223 crowd. Two more of my buds are big .308 jar heads and love their Remington 700's. Myself I prefer an enjoyable shooting, rather than watching those too hit themselves in the head with their own scope. (newbs mounted them wrong) GOOD TIMES MAN.
