I miss my guns.....

Left them at my brother's house cause I moved to Germany for a few years. Looking forward to moving back and getting them from him. Living in Virginia, we had concealed carry too so that was fun.

Anybody else collect guns or packing heat? I carried a .357Magnum snubbie for a while. Then switched to a 9mm.

No weapons here, I was wondering though, what makes concealed weapons so much fun

Just neat to be able to do it legally. Still a few states that don't allow it.

a concealed is so much fun. When some one screws with you on the street, you should see their expression, when you open your coat and show that steel. Run like the wind bad guy.....

my pistol license should be coming in the next month or two. in my county in New York we can carry concealed ONLY for certain sportsman activities (hunting, camping, fishing, hiking).

im not sure what I want to get for my first pistol - im thinking a ruger mark II .22 just to really learn on (plus its really cheap).

my dream gun would be an H+K USP 45

I like to keep a 12 gauge shotgun in the bedroom, loaded ready to go. The plug is out, the first two shells are #8 birdshot, for shooting inside, the next two are double ought buckshot, in case they make it out the door, and the last one is a rifled slug, in case they make it to the car. It will be easy to identify later.

I wear my ninja costume to bed in case someone breaks in at night.

On a serious note, you should consider keeping all of them at #6 or smaller. The reason is that the larger shot and the rifled slug will go through the walls of an average house. Unless you live on a farm, you need to consider the neighboring homes, since it is not considered polite to off your neighbor even if you did it by accident shooting at a felon.

My carry gun is a Glock 26. Small frame and butt (actually a bit too small, as my right pinky has nowhere to rest with a standard 10-round mag inserted) and recoil is not bad for a 9mm -- certainly less than a Beretta 92.

I can't find an in-pocket holster I like, which seems the best alternative for warm-weather carry (I don't dig the "belly bands"). So, I rarely carry...

Spitfire22, I don't know that I'd really characterize it as "fun." But, as a die-hard Second Amendment supporter (living only 6 miles from NRA headquarters), I can say that the right to carry a weapon with which to protect myself is, to me, as basic as the right to free movement, free speech or free expression of religion. More philosophical than practical, I guess, but vital nonetheless.

Good points Mike.

I carry a glock 23 in 40cal. Great weapon to have in my hand if it ever gets down to it. Would of used it one night.... but I left it at home.... The upside was, I didnt have to clean brain matter off the walls of my girlfriends house.

My 9mm is a Kel-Tec P11. Smallest and lightest nine around and it holds 10 in the mag and one in the pipe. Very easy to handle. My brother was carrying it as backup when he was part time cop.

I bought a Kramer inside the waistband holster and it worked perfectly. For warm weather all I needed was a loose t-shirt and a pair of cargo shorts with a belt. I even carried a full-size 45 like that for a while.

A holster is to a gun like speakers are to your stereo system. If you have poor quality speakers, it doesn't make a difference how good your receiver/amplifier is.

Spitfire, being in Canada your laws are a bit more restrictive on firearms aren't they?

Haven, have you actually done that? What was the situation?

Canadian gun laws are a joke, the latest insult to Canadians served up by the liberal Gvmt. is the hated gun registry, all firearms, collectors or not have to be registred, this registry is only 1 year old has allready cost Canadians 1 BILLION dollars to administer, not to mention the additional $80 million they just requested to dump into it ! This of course is going to cut down on violent crime regarding firearm use, cause we all know that the average criminal is going to register his weapon of choice after he steals it. As far as concealed weapons go I am not sure what red tape is involved in Canada but I do agree that a human being has the right to protect himself and his family. Lets face it folks the scum we're protecting ourselves from are usually armed as well.

My right arm is 1006 10 mm S&W. 155 gr jhp 8.9 grains 1157 fps.
My carry all is a Tarus 357 snub. I got rid of all my 9's except for my Berratta. I had 5906 S&W and was outdoor taget practicing on some old cars when i shot the windsheild, two of my silver tips bounced off the windsheild that pretty much ended my 9 mm days. Now my 10 mm will not only go through winsheilds but the car door and panels too. At four feet with non jacketed bullet it punched through a LTD bumper.

That is what 100% of the felons do here in the USA.
