Re: I miss the old days ...

I remember when Tony of OCZ was Bigtoe here, and Wes Fink was... damned if I can remember the nick! I only restarted posting within the last few weeks, after barely visiting after "the Troubles." Made some good friends here, though, and hopefully some more.

And, as far as "you should always enjoy the good times in the moment, as you never know how long they will last," nothing makes you realize that like having kids. One minute, you're changing crappy diapers and cursing all the work. The next, you're wishing you could make them little again so they don't go off to college. Watching your children grow up is the most bittersweet thing you can experience. And you praise God for letting you have the chance to do so.

It all goes far too fast, so enjoy the gifts you've been given.

To be really honest I really didn't see the performance difference on every day computing that I do to justify the money, yes my super pi times on 1m went from 38 seconds to 14 seconds, and my 3DMark 06 scores went from 4700 to 14700 but except for gaming just regular stuff not that much difference....

yeah you're right...having the latest and greatest is really only for benchmarking bragging rights and not much else...with my current AMD X2 3800+ I can play every single new game, except Crysis, at 1920 x 1200 with most graphical settings on 'High' (BioShock, Call of Duty 4, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Gears of War, Oblivion etc)...so except for the very rare killer high end game you don't really need to go all out

having the latest and greatest is fun for awhile but then it loses its luster

I see you have the QX9650...you really went for the absolute best
