I paid $250.00 USD for my P5N32-E SLI board. I couldn't justify paying $400.00 USD for the Striker Extreme. If you aren't going to put a soundcard in, then the SupremeFX Audio card, that comes with the motherboard should do you just fine, as it has on it the ADI 1988B 7.1HD codec that does DTS Surround Sound on it.

And if you get the P5N32-E SLI board, download the chipset drivers, and the latest GeForce 8000 series drivers from Nvidia's website, and don't install the Network Access Manager part of the chipset drivers, or nTune, I've read on the net, where these two can and in most cases do cause problems.

how about

I dont want to feel cheap by asking you this but is there a cheaper board around $100-$150 thats fast? I realy dont need sli if I can save the money. I like the virtual bios feature of the mobo I was talkin bout. Im searching Tomshardwareguide for benchmarks that are the fastest. Maybe we can both look for this. Do you see anything I should get with the info from here? Mobos & RAM | Tom's Hardware

Here are the three reviews I was able to find on the P5N32-E SLI board. Wow, the P5N32-E SLI board took a price drop, since I got it.

Asus P5N32-E SLI

Legion Hardware

In the Legion Hardware review they review both the Strike Extreme, and the P5N32-E SLI board.

All reviews have benchmarking results.

With my board having the 1102 bios on it, after I flashed it, I have been able to take standard Crucial DDR2 800 memory with the DDR2 memory voltage set to 1.85, to timings of 4-4-4-12. I tried Crucial Ballistix memory, that stuff was only stable at 1.9 volts, with timings of 5-5-5-18 for some reason. I'm guessing the ones I tried were a bad batch.

The P5N32-E SLI Plus is a hybrid motherboard. It uses the Nvidia NForce 590 Southbridge paired with the 570 Northbridge, not the 650i southbridge that Newegg shows it uses.

Newegg - Intel DP965LT

Newegg - Gigabyte P965 boards

Newegg - Asus P5B series

If you don't plan on a dual video card setup, get a board with an Intel chipset. They are the best for Intel CPUs.

Sorry to say, the P5N32-E SLI Plus is not a 650i motherboard. Newegg has their information wrong.

This link below is the correct 650i motherboard.

ATINUT thankyou very much for the link; and wow its cheaper then the asus card I posted Why is the warranty not lifetime and how do I safeguard the bios? The gigabyte card I picked has software for fast motherboard tweaker; how this compare? I like easy lol. But faster will win. On the picture im only seeing a few solid state capasitors ( half colored on top of capasitor) Dont this mean it wont last as long as those mobos that have them all solidstate?

ATINUT why are only a few capasitors solidstate? When I have time im going to see if I can find Toms Hardware benchmark between the gigabyte and asus mobos.

ASUS only uses Solid State capacitors on their higher end boards, from what I know of ASUS motherboards. What it amounts to, is that if you want more solid state capacitors than that, you will have to spend money for a higher end ASUS motherboard.

hm

Dont the OCZ Platinum memory need to support the motherboard chipset? The Gigabyte I posted has all solid state caps* but highest FSB is 1033. Go figure
