Indiana Jones was obducted!

I saw the new move last night. I was left feeling a bit empty for plot. What the hell was that thing and who the hell knows how it worked? Spielberg wasn't happy making "Close Encounters" above everyones head, so lets go ahead and make "Indiana Jones meets Close Encounters". The reason I loved Last Crusade was Sean Connery. Sorely missed here. Also, the whole suprise sidekick in the movie was obvious the first time I saw him. Highlight for me was the Nuking of the city. Villans had a purpose in the other movies, and this one never developed the same way. I wasn't a huge fan of the second movie for the same reasons as this one. The first and third worked because they dealt with real christian artifacts. Something a Archeologist would be interested in. This one and the second movie were about witch craft and aliens. Not interested. This move garners 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Re: Indiana Jones was obducted!

Come off it already, it's based on a real life mystery of a series of cystal skulls, that are in musems or in the possesion of people around the world. Nobody knows the true origin of the skulls, though there are many theroies and prophicies surrounding the skulls. It doesn't take much to figure this out.

If you had paid close attention, the Soviets were after the skull, believing they would have the ultimate power, once they reuinited the last skull with all the rest, but in the end, the Soviets didn't get what they had hoped to gain.

Not to mention the fact that Mr. Spock dies at the end.

Nice analysis, but telling me I am a dumbass for my opinion is stupid. Not sure who you think the target audience is for this movie, but most kids will not get that movie plot at all. My point is you knew what they wanted with all the other relics. In this movie it is so vague that they want the "ulitmate power". What the hell is that?

That's how he disagrees with people.

At least you, Spookyload, gave something of an analysis of the entertainment value of the movie. While I'm interested, and like Harrison Ford, I do NOT like Shia LaBeouf, and will likely just wait to see it as a rental.

The Soviet's believed that the ultimate power was a pyshic power, that would give them absolute control of the minds of everyone on the planet, in the end the ultimate gift or power is the gift of knowledge.

Tell me something since when did I call you a dumbass, for your opinion. Literally anyone could have figured out the plot.

It's the way you speak to people. It comes off as demeaning, like you're attacking people. Whether that's your intent or not.

Now I havn't seen the movie, so I'm simply asking here...

Was this ALL stated in the movie itself? Because if a movie requires me to so much as do one single internet search to be able to even understand what's going on, such as the full extent of the villain's motive, then as I see it, the movie failed as a story-telling device.

Members of Russia's Communist Party want the new "Indiana Jones" film banned

Russian Communist Party members condemned the new "Indiana Jones" film on Friday as crude, anti-Soviet propaganda that distorts history and called for it to be banned from Russian screens.

"What galls is how together with America we defeated Hitler, and how we sympathized when Bin Laden hit them. But they go ahead and scare kids with Communists. These people have no shame," said Viktor Perov, a Communist Party member in Russia's second city of St. Petersburg...

I saw the movie this past weekend and I was very disappointed...didn't have the same vibe as all the other Indiana Jones movies and felt out of place...I can't believe George Lucas and Steven Spielberg waited years to make another Indy movie because they were waiting for the right story and this is the best they could come up with?...it's like Lucas/Spielberg were so gung ho on introducing aliens into the mix and making an Indiana Jones/Star Wars hybrid that they missed the whole atmosphere of what makes an Indiana Jones film work

I was honestly bored watching it...the new characters were all pretty much dull...the CGI sucked!!...normally ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) produces some of the best movie computer generated graphics bar none but in this move the big CGI scenes looked so obviously fake to me...the jungle car chase near the cliff looked like they were filming with a fake background and it was painfully bad

Marion Ravenwood's acting was terrible...Harrison Ford did the best he could but even he looked bored...what a total disappointment in every sense of the word

I just remembered another incredibly stupid part of the movie...

escaping from a nuclear bomb blast by hiding inside a lead-lined fridge?
