Just got a new car (SUV)!!!

I am normally the type of person that drives his car until the wheels fall off. I was excited at my last new car as it was my first true "new" one.

I've become PAINFULLY aware very quickly that my two greyhounds do not easily fit in the back seat of a sedan. As much as I've always disliked SUVs and trucks because of teh space they take up, extra gas they use and the way they are so big they make it hard to see around - I decided the only option was to join them. Now I'll be high up and not have trouble seeing around other trucks and also have enough room to cart the boys.

This is the SUV I bought today - 2005 Toyota Highlander. I got the V6, front wheel drive version (not really planning it for offroading or hauling anything). This is not an actual pick of mine, but it looks identical. I'll pick mine up tomorrow.

Welcome to the big vehicle club.

I agree with you about seeing around them. I know the Germans have to hate it when they try to see around me to make a turn or cross the road. One thing that is nice about a bigger vehicle is that you can see over the smaller cars which makes it easier to back up out of a spot, cross the road or make a turn.

Congrats on the new purchase. That should give you enough room for the hounds.

Nice! Toyota makes quality. It will be a very long time before the wheels fall off.
