I got lucky and instead of being hellraiser I just battled depression. I think one of the things that helped keep me even during those early teen years was being able to still be a child. Without siblings or the right school friends I never felt pressure or the need to be instantly older or the alure of those things reserved for those who were. I was perfectly content to ride my bicycle to the video store and rent video games and play with my legos without feeling that those things were 'beneath me'.

I think today's kids, thanks to media and consumerism are being denied the simple pleasure of being kids earlier and earlier, which leads to problems then and later.

Sorry for the small rant and no advice, I just thought I'd share.

I agree fully with you FightingChance. One good example of toys being a little too adult for the kids that play with them are the Bratz dolls that are these tasteless dolls that have 10 year olds with cell phones and short skirts and other stuff of that nature...It saddens me to see it.
