Here's some user reviews. I would rate these as 5/5 as compared to my last pair of Goodyear Aquatred 3s that cost twice as much. I have had them for 8K miles and they are very nice IMO.
there are a lot of Grand Prix's and Regals that run them

Yeah, pretty cool. I noticed ProForeign is from Isla Vista a couple of weeks ago when I saw him post and I thought that was pretty neat. Don't want to hijack KT's thread so I'll just say I hope you are surviving all the rain we just had!

Thanks for all the responses....I've got enough info to start doing some calling/researching/action (I don't want to drive on this thing).

Feel free....hijack away!

IMO Continental tires are of poor quality. Over the years I have seen way to many go south. AKA blow out, separate etc. Stay away from Firestone/Bridgestone, Uniroyal and General. If you have the money I'd go Michelin as long as you never see snow/ice. My second choice would be Goodyear or BFG.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I ended up buying the tires from tire-rack (thanks FB), and they are being shipped to a place that will install when they come in.

I went with these tires:

Yokohama Avid V4s

They had one of the highest ratings for my size (215/55 VR16). I have a co-worker (and ABX member ProjectX) who bought these tires (also from tire rack)...although his weren't Avid V4S, they were Yokohama's and he is extremely happy with the tires (and Tire-Rack.com).

you might want to get your alignment checked after the tires are installed too.

Already on my "to do" list. I've a "funny feeling" (with the wear pattern) that's its severly out of whack.

If I feel industrious I may take some pics of the current tires tomorrow when light is good and put them up.

Actually...that's on my to do list too. I think I need new shocks/struts...probably should do that *first* then the alignment, right?

Yeah tell me about it.

I went to the shop and got some new struts, got an alignment, and a rotate and balance, and my car drove worse after my 500+$ shopping spree... argh..... Tires only have 8K miles... I didn't want an alignment, but my wife took my car to the shop, so they took advantage of the situation..

I've seen that a lot on Hondas, customer gets talked into new A/market struts and then the car drives terrible due to poor quality parts.

yes. I did struts first, then i got my alignment done afterwards.

Sup, you should usually always get an alignment done after a strut install, as far as i know anyway.

Yeah, on my old Civic I definitely had an alignment problem (pulled to the right). I ignored it for so long the tires started wearing on one side. My arm would actually get tired from pulling left on the steering wheel constantly on long drives.

Finally it got so bad I had to take it in to get aligned. But that didn't do all that much, even after the tires were rotated. I watched him, he DID do an alignment, and it was with an optical system precise to 1/1000", so there must have been something else.

The only problem I have with my Hyundai Santa Fe now is poor traction with my BFG stock tires, but that's a common problem to a vehicle weighing 3880 lbs without ABS or AWD. Still I can't help but think traction would be improved with Goodyear or Michelin tires. I'd like snow tires, since I had Toyo snow tires for my Civic, and man, those things were made of glue! But I can't justify snow tires living here.

And filling tires with nitrogen? Sounds neat but what exactly does it accomplish? I'm sure there are benefits as nitrogen is more expensive than air. Right off the bat I can think of reduced internal oxidation. Would compressibility/thermal expansion have a role to play too?
