Microsoft intellipoint Mouse Blew up..!!

Ok get this..i come home and the wife tells me her mouse just blew up!!..im thinking *** is she talking about..So it turns out , the batterys started leaking in the mouse and got all over the inside off the mouse and it stopped working all together.btw the battery were energizers, there was nothing wrong with them...and to top it off, it was in the hands of my 4yr while he was playing @ cartoon network.com.. got all over is hands and mouth..

So is there a toll-free # i could call and talk to someone in microsft with-out paying there $15.00 a minute help desk..

What can i do to get another mouse, besides buying another 1 like im going to have to do tomorrow..

Thx

Call microsoft. They have a lifetime replacement on their hardware. And as a bonus, if they don't make the one you had, they upgrade it to the next higher level of what you had. I have had my Intllimouse optical replaced twice. The only kicker is the sticer on the bottom that has the product ID and serial must still be readable. Give them a call at (425) 635-7040. It isn't toll free, but it will net some replacement parts. Make sure you tell them about your son with battery acid on his hands and face. That will shake things up fast.

first off, spookyload, your sig is HIIIIGH-larious!

back ot: i have an MS Intellimouse Explorer that is approx.. 3 years old. How would I go about getting a replacement? Should I call the number? What's wrong with it you ask? Well for starters, it's 3 years old and it drops connection to my PC (regardless of port used - usb vs. ps/2). otherwise, this is probably the best mouse i've EVER used.

but a shiny new rodent would be nice

regards,
pino

The wires are loosened and worn at connection. Designer fault on that vintage IMO. Happened to mine too. Get rid of it fast cause it won't get better

Well i called MS and there sending me the latest wireless mouse they have..also told them about the battery fluid on my 4yr hands.."she"on the phone "microsoft" sounded really concerned about that..saying we are really really sorry..So anyways i had to take a picture of the bottom of the mouse and write a little story about why im returning the product on papper and had to fax it to MS..said the mouse will be here in 10-15 working days..lol so i already went out and bought a Logitech MX310 and this thing is sweet.! so i have my new mouse and the kids and wife have my old logitech mouse atm..
