| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. Sorry to hear that, Slayer. I lost my brother 0n 1/3/08 I have his cat, which is about 20yo. He's a big pain in the ***,but I'm letting him live out his life like my brother wanted. Out of respect for him. Every day I pray the cat, goes out like Taz...lol That seems like a pretty good way to go. He didn't know what hit him. Good luck. |

| I have two cats: one is 5 years old and the other one is 13 years old. I sometimes look at the older one and realize that she will be leaving me sometime in the next 3-5 years and I get a little upset. I know that it not something one can control and that all life must come to an end someday but when I look into her big round eyes and realize what a wonderful part of my life she has been, I know that losing her will hurt me very deeply. I am very sorry for your loss, Deer Slayer.

| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. Ugh, spent the whole weekend drinking, and ****** at the world, didn't get anything done I wanted to. All I have to show for it is a headache and an upset stomach more than 24 hours after my last drink . I think I drank enough saturday night to stay drunk all day sunday, kinda wish I had a breathalizer to find out when exactly I finally sobered up. Usually I wake up with a hangover, but I was still drunk, and the hangover didn't start until about 4 PM. Had some friends over and had a bonfire that lasted until sunrise. Funny how things don't help but people do them anyways. |

| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. Condolences regarding Taz. The pain of losing a loved one is close to unbearable. I do, however, have a suggestion to offer in how to deal with your loss. I know it works because it did for me. Four and a half years ago Mrs. TQ and I lost Sassy, our deeply loved Cocker Spaniel. Her spirit was larger than her body and she loved hiking the high passes of Colorado. The day we lost her, as I moped around the house in various stages of distress, my wife gently suggested that we head out to a local breeder and just "look" at puppies. I remember the way she put it: "you can stay here and mope or you can go with me to see these puppies". I chose door number two and knew then there was no way we weren't coming home without a wiggler. Bottom line: getting a kitten now, today, will give your grief something to focus on that needs your love and attention. Best medicine I was ever spooned. We decided to name her Belle and she's my second best friend, next to Mrs. TQ who will always be number one.

| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. I'm really sorry for your loss, like TQ said maybe getting a kitten will help with the pain. We lost our dog 10 years ago and didn't get our Georgie untill 6 years ago and I wish we wouldn't have waited so long!

| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. I had similar thoughts..."it's too soon", "it's disrespectful to her memory"...these thoughts become irrelevant when something that needs you asks for your love and attention. Then world, then, doesn't suck.

| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. Sorry to hear of your loss. I don't personally retain the company of any cats (I won't say own on that) due to my allergies. But I have friends with cats and take an alergy pill when I go over. They love cuddling with me and I love playing with them. The one has a tongue so rough it feels like she will take my hide off, but I'm well groomed when I leave, haha. Cheer up bud, you'll have the memories to enjoy at least. ![]()

| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. That reminds me a LOT of Taz when he was little. He was nutzoid like that, he'd beat up your feet if you moved them under the blankets, and he LOVED to play CONSTANTLY. He still played up until the night before he died, still have a scratch on my hand from him getting a little rough. He never really seemed to get old, not like the other animals. If he wanted to play, he'd nip at me a couple times. Then I'd make a fist so he couldn't bite me (his mouth wouldn't open wide enough to get a hold of it) and I'd push his head back and forth. He'd eventually get frustrated and grab my hand with his claws. Then I'd grab the top of his head, and say I got a kitty head. He wouln't break skin UNLESS it was an accident. He usually didn't do that, and if he did it's because I pulled away. If I happend to be laying on my stomach, and he was on my back, I'd have 10 claws in my butt if I cut the cheese! It's funny how he knew EXACTLY how deep through blankets, and my clothes to just barely prick my skin, but not draw blood! I have a water bed, and in the entire time I had him, he only put a hole in it a couple times. Once was because I rolled over and knocked him off the bed because I didn't know he was there. He wasn't so nutzoid after he got to be about 7 years old, but he was a VERY active cat for a good part of his life. He used to get what we called the midnight crazies, he'd get bored and go tearing through the house, and claw up the scratching post. Then he'd go find a stuffed animal to beat up. If mice got in the house they didn't have a chance! He'd leave them on the mat right in front of the door after he was done playing with them to death, never ate them. About 3 years ago he TIRED to catch a rabbit as big as he was and got his butt kicked! He'd literally do backflips chasing toys I had. His favorite toy was an ice fishing pole with a fuzzball on the end of about 6' of line. Called it cat fishing, the acrobatics of him going after that were something else! ![]() |

| Re: My Taz cat died this morning. Gee, that sounds like the last cat i had the honour to live with. She didn't become very old, some nasty disease. The most of the people thought of her to be a little bit rough, but i think i had a good feeling and so both of us could play without even i little scratch. You just have to understand the way she does it, then nothing should happen. Well, right now i have the honour to share my life with a tibetan terrier. Strange dog. Seems to be related to cats somehow, the way she moves and streetches. Very picky, seems to have a strong personality (we think she's the reincarnation of a buddhist monk, and enjoying the fact to be reborn as a dog).
