The way I do it is that I hire no one. I do everything myself and I curse and swear so much while doing it that my wife leaves and doesn't return until the work is complete!

Hello,

nowareman,

Something special to give your wife....

Now get down on one knee and say "I Love You"

We're getting our bathroom remodeled and it's taking a far greater toll on her than I could ever have imagined.

Yesterday I stayed upstairs in case the carpenters needed anything. I braved the dust and noise willingly, the thought of a our new bathroom strengthing my resolve. She called me for myriad trips downstairs for instructions in case of any calamatous event. The she complained I was "having fun" on my computer all day.

Today I turned my computer off when the plumbers arrived. I went downstairs to stay with her. I even brought a book. As I sipped my morning tea I was told emphatically that I had to go upstairs right then and "supervise" the plumbers.

Right now all is quiet. It's just after lunch so the fireworks haven't started yet.

But I can tell the fuse is lit.

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

I know what my wife would say if I did that.

"So what caused this? Someone on that ABX whatever suggested it, didn't they?"

^^Now that's one way to tell you're spending way too much time here, PR.

remember the head-spinning scene in The Exorcist"?.....well that is a mere bagatelle compared to "the change"....in other words, you won't need to ask...you'll know. When it happened in my house, I came home to find my 17 year old 6'3" Son (his mother's prize) hiding in his room and saying "she's in the bedroom...I wouldn't bother her"....an understatement....

It does pass...and modern medical chemistry is a gift from the Gods...

Sounds to me like you've had an easy 33 years. My wife of 4 months unravels at anything and everything. I can't wait to buy a family car, house, have kids, etc. and watch her go critical.

Update:

The rough inspections have started. The work resumes Monday. Everything is very rustic in it's current state. But we do have a bath tub again.

Good to hear ....VISIBLE signs of progress are a good thing...point each one out to Mrs. noware, as such things are a better morale booster than several dozen roses. Glad to hear you're making progress, did you go with a 5', 5'6", or 6' tub model....Std. or whirlpool? (many of my clients are no longer going with the Jacuzzi/whirlpool tubs...I think their popularity is waning).

Thanks, Wingit.

5'6" standard tub. We heard the same thing about whirlpools and jacuzzis.
