NASA to Announce Success of Long Galactic Hunt

WASHINGTON -- NASA has scheduled a media teleconference Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. EDT, to announce the discovery of an object in our Galaxy astronomers have been hunting for more than 50 years. This finding was made by combining data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory with ground-based observations.

A video file about the discovery will air on NASA Television on May 14. NASA TV is carried on an MPEG-2 digital signal accessed via satellite AMC-6, at 72 degrees west longitude, transponder 17C, 4040 MHz, vertical polarization. NASA TV is available in Alaska and Hawaii on AMC-7 at 137 degrees west longitude, transponder 18C, at 4060 MHz, horizontal polarization.

Thanks, Peter. It's a head study by artist Bob Bertram of my oldest girl, Belle.
He perfectly captured the intense look she gives me when I have either a tennis ball or a frisbee in hand.

My youngest, Halo, had surgery today and isn't feeling very well right now. Last Sunday she somehow badly impaled herself of something very sharp (we don't know what) and had to be rushed to the emergency clinic. It was only today that I was able to get her into see our regular vet and its surgeon and they both suggested she needed that hole cleaned and stitched up. I spent much of today (my birthday) at the clinic. Mrs. TQ is in Orlando for some big HP shindig so it was just me to handle all Halo's medical needs.
She's sleeping right now. I hope to keep her comfortable tonight. She has canine pain killers but her tummy's so upset from the anesthesia that I hesitate to try to give her anything. I'll try in about an hour or so and see how she feels about taking something.
