Arrow Official "What did you think of Matrix Revolutions" Thread

Being no one else posted it yet, here's the thread.

And here's what i thought

just seen it, all i can say is

CGI is great as usual...but the movie....

see what made 1 good was it was a dark cool movie with effects wrapped around it. the last 2 were corporate movies with rehashed effects...thus you can pretty much sum it up with stating the last 2 were effects with a movie wrapped around it.

Worth seeing: yes

but me being a matrix fan i can i was a bit dissapointed.

i think my preferance in liking is: part 1, then 2, and finally 3....lol fits the sequence...i think 2 was better than 3 IMHO.

enjoy the movie

no dont get me wrong its worth seeing, just thought it would be better,

dont want to get into anything cause i dont want to spoil it for any of you, and ultimatly you should judge for yourself, everyone has there own opinon, likes and dislikes.

i will say this, reloaded made you throw away most of what you believed in the 1st movie, however revolutions reafirms the 1st movies core which i didnt understand, why try to make you question movie 1 in reloaded only to solidify movie 1 in revolutions.

I've just re-read the forum rules, but given my somewhat lacking knowledge of English I'm still not sure whether I'm allowed to say moderated here... seems I'm not, then how about moderated... still no go, well, I'm sure moderated wouldn't pass either, to say nothing of moderated, moderated, and (of course) moderated... Out of luck, then, sorry, unable to convey what I think, sorry once again, I tried hard, honest ;)) Better luck with the movie, everyone, and should you have a choice (ahem), steer clear of the Russian translation, having this insult added to injury doesn't help any.

see thats the thing the first one was barely hollywood thats what made it so cool ( like the original Burton Batman), it was an outsider on hollywood terms, then the original chemistry went corporate exploited and finally rehashed hollywood.

If you want to see this movie, go watch it in the cinema.

Don´t wait for the rental to watch it at home!
Even if you have your own LCD projector, Dolby Digtal EX 256.64, DTS, Mutli Enviroment, 3-D virutal realism blahblah stuff at home you will be more disappointed then in the cinema.

In the cinema you have a huge screen, many, many, very loaud speakers so the Special effects can cover up the crappy story (well, there´s not much to cover), etc.

The first one was the best of the three, but even that one was disappointing when watched at home.

well I pretty much agree with everyone's assement. To me, I thought it was a let down. Unless I didn't get the ending, and that would have special meaning similar to the architects speech in the 2nd one. I will watch it again this weekend, so I will see if seeing it again will change my feelings.

The plot did have way too many holes in it though. And, not enough action. But at least in a few seens I did get teary eyed. I thought the fights were cheesy, and the CGI was very noticable.

if you are a fan, then go and see it. If you are a casual bystander wait. I was also surprised to see so few people there today. To me this movie did not answer many questions, it just posed more.

Overall I give it a 7.5/10

I will see it Friday night with my wife and some friends. I don't like the tone of this thread so far. Looks like I'm in for a disappointment.

Yeah, I'm hoping to see it with my brother and sister-in-law Saturday (if they can get a sitter) - but I'm kinda bummed by the comments I've seen so far. On the plus side, we go to a great cinema, great screen, sound and very comfortable seats on a step incline [no heads in the way ].

First, thanks to everyone who has posted so far for not mentioning any spoilers.

Still, I was disappointed enough by Reloaded, that I was going to wait for the reviews from other ABXZone members (now in ) for Revolutions before deciding whether to watch it or not. Frankly, since Revolutions seems to be as bad as Reloaded (or worse), I will not see it at all--unless one of my kids gets me a copy for Christmas.

I think the problem with sequels to movies is that they are very much like a love affair.

It is almost the same contrast as when we first dated with a loved one. While the follow-on romance is often satisfying, nothing ever matches the intensity of the first times together.

As for me, short of some of the lame-*** excuses that Paramount hoisted on us for Trek movies, I can accept if the sequel movie doesn't exactly pull your mental strings as taughtly as the first one.

I remember seeing Star Wars when it was first released and being simply astounded at what could be done with special affects. The follow-ons, even though technically improved have never had quite the same affect. It doesn't mean that I can't sit down and enjoy the follow on movies.

Talking Revolutions?

I have to say this movie was over-hyped. I'm a huge fan of the Matrix films but I was left slightly disappointed. However I felt the same way when I first saw Reloaded (The Archietect scene really annoyed me and I was expecting him to pickup his Oxford English Dictionary now and again......Ergo.......Vis-a-vis.......Corcodantly????) Over time I was able to absorb it and understand most of it.

It's not that bad, I just have to get to know it. Hahahahahaha (Evil Smith/Oracle laugh)

Again with all the in your face CGI and noise your trying to unravel the plot. The dialogue in this movie was not as as good as The Matrix & Reloaded and the scenes seem a little too rushed. There is not so much build up to events as with the previous set pieces (The Lobby Scene & The Freeway spring to mind). The club scene ended far too quickly.

Hugo Weaving was great as Agent Smith (again) but I thought he was losing the plot in the end and suffering from delusions of grandeur. (Que gritted teeth and lines such as It's My World!).
He makes an excellent bad guy and his expressions make me laugh (although his says Mr Anderson one too many times).

The ending left me very confused and I had to sit and think afterwards what I had just heard and seen.
To me this is part of the appeal of these movies that we all sit and talk about for hours trying to fathom out the complexity of the plot only to leave dumbfounded by unanwsered questions and the ambigious ending.

A lot of fans are disappointed and maybe for them it should be retitled:

The Matrix: Refunded (I want my entrance fee back!)

All in all not bad, but not as excellent as the former movies.

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

It's starting to sound more and more like another trilogy could be made.

Maybe Hollywood should get the T3 to do damage to the Matrix.
