Old clip about "Internet"

Yes thats right its an oldy about this thing called Internet. So let Peter Mansbridge and the folks at the CBC teach you about this "internet" oh and also smilies

I guess the clip is from the early 90's maybe late 80's. Dun know. But I think they left out Al Gore... those *******s.... *shakes fist*

Worked for me ok.

Very interesting piece.....sure shows you how things have come since those days. I'd guess epicbard is right in his assesment of the time frame. It was definitely all text, no windows or heavy graphics yet. Probably early 90s or maybe even late 80s.

On one of the monitors in the clip, it said 1987 I beleive.

I do think that things have changed dramatically along the lines of flaming / insults / mature people on it.

Like they said under the clip, any kid has acsess to his parents computer, so many flamers nowadays.. immature kids, etc.

That was a copyright so it could be anytime after that. I did notice alt.politics.clinton and alt.politics.rush-limbaugh message boards on one of the screens. I would think that is 1991 at the earliest since why would clinton of been a big topic of discussion before he decided to run for president. A better indicator would be to find out when the first congressional hearings on the internet took place since he mentions they are happening 'next month'.
