NYC would have been a great location for the Olympics...too bad they could not work out all the stadium issues

I was actually surprised when I heard that London had won...going into it Paris was the odds on favorite to land the 2012 Olympics..

but congrats to London and Tony Blair...I'm sure they will make a fine host

I like the design of the proposed Olympic Stadium that will be built in London

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8476616/ (click on "slide show" half way down the page to see the artists rendering of the new stadium)

Tampa was bidding for the 2012 as well and we lost it. We had signs up for a year or so all over about how we hoped to get the 2012 Olympics.

I think we mostly wanted it for the money....the Olympics is such a huge revenue generator that the locations that get it are given a TON of money years in advance to help ensure the infrastructure for transportation and all are there. Tampa has had "infrastructure" problems for years and years and I think they were hoping this would be a quick fix.

7 years X 365 days X 5 posts per day = 12,775 posts!
