| Re: Still Using the CUSL2 I just just recently put Vista Ultimate on mine to try it out. But, to my surprise, Vista did not have native drivers for the old 3com NIC or SB Live! sound card. My Vista experience score was 1! ![]()

| Re: Still Using the CUSL2 Installed Vista SP1. No problems. Found a SB Live! driver here: SBL_VTDRV_LB_2_10_0001A.exe - FileFront.com Will try installing that this evening. Now I just need to find a driver for the old 3com NIC.

| Re: Still Using the CUSL2 I remembered I had a usb wireless adapter, plugged it in, installed the drivers and software... voila! ![]() Windows update shows drivers for my SB Live! & my 3com NIC! Downloading and installing now! Vista Ultimate on an old CUSL2. Not bad. edit: everything is installed and working. Vista Ultimate doesn't run bad at all on it. But, of course I can't run Aero b/c of the GeForce 2 GTS 32MB video card.

| Re: Still Using the CUSL2 Recently I sold my CUSL2 + PIII-S 1.26Ghz + 512MB + FX5700LE. It`s a miss as I used to run it every day for surfing the net, running almost 24/7. It still runs great. The buyer will run it 24/7.

hmm. I don't remember ever replacing a BIOS chip on a C/TUSL2. I sent one in for warranty replacement once, but don't remember f it was for a fried BIOS chip. As for the P4C800, if your AGP slot is really bad, I think it's best to just replace the board or build a new PC. You could put a PCI vid card in it, if you have one, but I don't think it's worth finding and buying one just for that. Good luck!

![]() I had to remove antivirus AVG 7.5 which was upgraded to AVG 8.5 and then it just killed the cusl2 with a Pentium 3 at 1Ghz, 512MB RAM, it just stalled, up to a minute to see the links to programs in Quick Launch in Windows XP, it was totally unusable. Installed ESET NOD32, and now it works much much better, still the 512MB RAM is struggling to keep up with todays ever so RAM- and CPU-hungry applications When I'm running my youtube playlist it takes up 30-90% CPU and fullscreen doesn't work at all with youtube HQ content I used Media Player Classic (MPC) and ran a NASA TV stream, 1200kbs, at the same time as some youtube music, to see todays Space Shuttle Launch but the picture had a minute lag behind the sound, my mistake as I ususally run Winamp music which works well with it as it does now after a full computer restart I might try to install a passive heatpipe HSF on my old geforce 4 ultra as it has two noisy 40mm fans, because this geforce 2 ultra has some bottleneck here and there on games etc becasue the RMA might take a month to complete image showed NASA TV but doesn't show now with Print Screen Last edited by X-hellfire; 05-11-2009 at 06:08 PM.. | |

| Re: Still Using the CUSL2 I have plans of putting a 10/100/1000 NIC in the asus cusl2 ...it seemed like a good idea some time ago but now I don't know anymore as the it really starts to how itīs old age, it's no point really I had planned to swap harddiskracks from the CM Stacker to the CM HAF 932 but as I learned when I put it together those CM 4-in-3 device does not fit in the three available 5,25" bays had to dismount the harddisks frpm them and put them in the five HAF 932 special plastic with rubber mountings harddisk bays, they don't work very well though when I put 3 hardisks in it and had the case on my desktop it caused some serious resonance which made the whole desktop vibrate disconnected one harddisk it worked little better, still very annoying sound but it went almost away when the case was placed on the floor The CM HAF 932 is great case in many ways but I might have to sell it anyway as it does not suit my needs |
