UFO -- How many of you believe aliens exist?

Just curious, and for fun only, how many of you believe that aliens exist?
Do you think aliens can overclock their computer to come here?

Given nature laws, such as stars collapse, explode, etc., aliens if exist also need to find a replacement if their planet is going to its end. At least, our earth probably have too many problems, human beings may be too violent for them? Just hope their space crafts do not use gasoline, otherwise the gas prices will go up more

Re: UFO -- How many of you believe aliens exist?

I believe there is life out there and quite probably intelligent life, as well. There are too many billions of stars and too many billions of galaxies full of billions of stars to think otherwise.

I think a great deal of sentient life has probably existed millions of years before us and more of it will exist millions of years after we are gone.

But has any of these civilizations actually visited us on Earth in recorded history?

Nope!

I mean, honestly...wacky conspiracy theories aside, we would have known about it, don't you think?

Echo Brian. However, given the lack of success of the Seti@home project and it's years of computing time, I am starting to wonder if there are any in this galaxy.

The odds are so long. We don't know how long a civilization lasts. If if is only a few thousand years, it is very easy to miss them in time.

Well said, Brian & Rick. I agree.

On another note, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were camping out in the woods one night. At around 3 a.m., the great detective awakened Dr. Watson, and asked him to look upward and say what he deduced. Watson said: "I see thousands of stars. And for each one I see there are billions more that I can't see. And if only a tiny fraction of those stars support habitable planets, there are likely to be a great many planets that have intelligent life." Sherlock Holmes replied: "Watson, you idiot, somebody stole our tent!"

Re: UFO -- How many of you believe aliens exist?

I toss the whacky theories out the window, and prefer more down to Earth explanations for UFO's as quite frankly, we still don't know everything there is to know about this planet Earth we live on.

We learned a lot over the years, but still don't know everything.

Odds are that if UFO's and Aliens do exist, by the time they get here, Human Civilization will have come and gone. Another thing, in huge percentage of UFO sightings, about 75 to 80 percent, are misindentified military aircraft.

It was also revealed in I think it was a Discovery Channel or was it a History Channel Documentary, that 80 percent of the Crop Circles in England are not caused by UFO's, but by people going out late at night, and using boards and other methods to create said Crop Circles. This was revealed by a guy that had been investigating crop circles for quite some time.

UFO's and extra-terrestrials are a bunch of bunk. That NASA astronaut who walked the moon needs to shuddup and stop embarrassing himself.

Add another to the, "they exist, but have not visited us" contingent.

Re: UFO -- How many of you believe aliens exist?

I agree with Brian and Rick. However, if definition as to what intelligence means is still not satisfactory, I tend to think that we even do not know much of what is going on in this earth, much less what exists in some galaxy so far away.

Even if aliens exist and assuming they can come here, and if their technologies are much superior to ours, we might not know it with all our technologies now. The scientific viewpoint requires evidence, but our mind may have an ability to "see" things much further into the future than the hard, physical evidence can be collected. Just think about airplanes, submarine, computer, remote-control, sensor-activated doors, etc. Before those can be made, if anyone talks about it, people tend to ridicule them, or in ancient times, label them as witches and may kill them.

I don't buy conspiracy theories on UFOs, but if we can rely on our senses and technologies only, our knowledge will increase with advance of technologies.

Re: UFO -- How many of you believe aliens exist?

I want to fix my last post, I think its false there were E.T.'s in space taxis that have visited earth. I do fathom there could be another universe somewhere which houses life.

Actually Woody Allen had a good line just like that in his film "Hannah and her Sisters," set in New York. He was referring to an un-named rock musician that his date had just taken him to see.

In my dating years I became convinced of the probability of this, in my married years that probability has been confirmed.

Well, it seems like me having found out in the past my girlfriend was (is still now, but with someone else) an UFO = Ultimately, or Unmistakably, Financial Overspending
