| Re: Well, dang...the cancer's back... By the way, I'd appreciate it if you guys would visit my blog found here... It somewhat mimics the posts I make here, but not always. Plus, it has photos! And the mystery of Mrs. TQ's real name is revealed! You can sign the guest book if you like and read posts from my non-ABX friends.

| Re: Well, dang...the cancer's back... Hey TQ, Love the blog and especially the photos. It's nice to put a face to the writings I read here. Maybe I'll post a picture of myself one day (hopefully that won't scare anyone off ). I signed your guestbook and enjoyed reading what others had written as well. I do mean it when I stated I enjoy reading your posts here. They are intelligent, insightful, and enjoyable... even when I still can't agree with you on Oblivion

| Re: Well, dang...the cancer's back... Heh...I don't think we disagree per se on Oblivion. I understand your criticism about how your actions have no effect in Oblivion and I don't have a problem with that. I think it would make for better gameplay if one could affect the world in such a fashion. I wonder how or if Bethesda will implement something like that in Fallout 3. I've already ponied up the cost for Fallout 3 (as well as Stalker: Clear Sky and The Force Unleashed) so I reckon I'll find out.

| Re: Well, dang...the cancer's back... Went over to the Dark Side yesterday as I played "The Force Unleashed" demo for about an hour. It was the very first time I have ever played on an XBox. I'm still getting used to the controller - the movement/direction toggle is my biggest challenge - but I reckon I can get used to it. Man, if the Jedi's had been this powerful in the movies as my character is in TFU nothing would have stood against them...except a Dark Side adept. The mass at the base of my neck is swelling a bit. It's intruding on my ability to drink and eat. Not that I wasn't before, but I'm really being deliberate in swallowing small quantities of food and drink...otherwise it gets stuck and I have to expel it. I called TOC to apprise them of the situation (long weekend coming up) and to see what my options were. I'm not too worried about it at this point and figure with the long layovers between treatments some back sliding is likely. Remember: I've had one treatment only and this will likely be a long process taking months. To beat the holiday crowds we're taking the pack out to Pace Bend for a special surprise Friday swim. (It's a secret, so don't mention it to the fur kids...)

| Ugh, well swelling might not necessarily be a bad thing. It just might be the area being agravated by the treatment. Anyways, enjoy your swim. I know awaiting the responses from the doctor is probably insanely stressful. Just try to stay distracted. Took a look at your blog, interesting to put faces with the names. It's not at all how I was picturing you, but hey, it RARELY is. Forgot to sign in though, but I will. ![]() |

I was having a very difficult time with eating and drinking all day yesterday. That is to say I was keeping nothing down. Everything would just get stuck and I'd have to expel it. Even water. I was resigned to calling TOC this morning to speak with the physician on call to set up an emergency fluid IV and talk about options as far as food was concerned. But, when I got up this morning I sipped some water and found I could keep it down. I then moved over to a blueberry yogurt shake Mrs. TQ made for me last night and it seems I'm keeping this down, too. I'm cautious right now because it may be that I'm just filling the available space in my throat to capacity and will have to force it out again but so far, not. Needless to say my workouts are on hold until I can get some fuel back in my system.

| Re: Well, dang...the cancer's back... Good Morning TQ...Hope the eating issue continues to improve....sometimes it seems that if you're not being harassed from one direction, then something comes from another! Don't know how your protocol spaces out your treatments, but I sure felt some cautious optimism after your last report..I believe you're probably right that this something to look at over a longer time perspective. I cannot imagine how this impacts an active, outdoor type guy like you, but you do a pretty impressive job of managing the frustration IMO. I too took a look at the web page you linked and came away thinking what a brilliant concept it was! Something that can actually reduce the isolation felt by someone with a serious illness! The pictures were great and help to flesh out the person behind the posts...makes it real. Will be back to check out new additions and sign the guestbook. Good luck for now and know that you are in our thoughts ![]()

Nice to put a face on you, Mrs TQ, and friends. Looks like you have a good support system. I haven't signed the guestbook yet. I'm in the middle of changing meds. I was having some weird side effects the last couple days. Thought I'd refrain from much posting until head clears. Today is much better. Will sign the guest book at a later time as I am like Skully, changed meds a couple of days ago and am a little fuzzy so will do it in a few days. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

| Re: Well, dang...the cancer's back... TQ -- As time permits I've been making my way through your entire blog, starting with the 2006 experience. Written, as I would have expected, with your characteristic wit, intelligence, and charm, even though it's dealing with some pretty heavy matters. I thought I'd take the liberty of recommending that your other buds here also check out your beautifully done business site, daywalkeraudio dot com, which includes several voice-over samples. Best voice I've heard outside of Carnegie Hall, and those were singing voices, not speaking voices. I hope and pray it will be back in form before too long. Best, -- Al

| Re: Well, dang...the cancer's back... Wow, Al...you are too kind and I appreciate you taking the time to go all the way back to 2006 to read some of the old stuff. My good friend Lesli Mosser spent much of her own free time to post all those and set up the site. Eating is still problematic. I got a bit too ambitious this morning and tried some bran cereal and messed up the precious little pipeline I had, so I'm back to clearing out what's in there. Once I can drink water again Mrs. TQ is going to puree' some of her homemade chicken noodle and we'll see how that goes. I'm taking some solace in the fact that my voice is getting stronger. There are moments during the day when I can actually work. It's just inconsistent, so I'm not quite back to pro level quality. We've watched several movies recently and a couple of them stand out. I was taken with "Becoming Jane", a dramatized version of Jane Austin's pre-professional writing days. It stars one of my favorite young actresses Anne Hathaway. While the film plays fast and loose with Austin's personal timeline, it is based on events that happened in her life. I'm a sucker for period pieces anyway so this one was right up my alley. The other standout was "Street Kings" with Keanu Reeves, Forest Whittaker and a great cast of folks who usually don't play minor characters, such as Cedric the Entertainer. Kind of a modern day "Serpico" with enough plot twists to keep your brain corkscrewed the whole time. Really entertaining and a solid rental. Ah...looks like I can keep water down again so maybe I can have a go at the soup...as long as it's ground up good.
