Just watched Memento. Yes I know... and old one but I never caught it in the theatres. I must say I don't get what the hype was about when it came out.

I think the hype was because it was a very fresh and original idea...I still think it is very original. It was a good movie made very good because of the freshness of the idea.

#19 on IMDB's list...so many people liked that!

Not uncommon....I think its very easy to do if a movie is hyped as being really good and you don't see it for a few years. By the time you see it you are really expecting a lot and then are let down.

It happend to me years ago with Braveheart!

I do it all the time. I often find myself having extremely high expectations about a movie and end up feeling a bit disappointed.

But the other way works too. There have been many movies which have surprised me in a positive way when I had no expectations at all. I still have to agree with Unax on "2 fast 2 furious" though

It gets better with repeat viewing...the movie is extremely complex.

After watching it twice you think: is Teddy right? If so it changes the whole movie, which makes you want to watch it a THIRD time in that light.

I was thinking the same thing, but it's getting some bad reviews at the IMDB.

I tried to read an Asimov book and I couldn't finish it...too boring!

I loved it when he was admiring the Luftwaffe attack on his compound and praised the pilots. The tank battle was also fantastic - "Rommel, I READ YOUR BOOK!!"

I just got a call from a friend of mine to ask me if I saw it yet. She went and saw it today or last night or something. She said she liked it a lot.

I mentioned the Foundation series to her too... that I tried to read about 10-12 years go and found too boring after the prelude and then the first book. She (who was around and a teen or so when it came out) said the stories were about things that were more apprapo if you were around back in that time and why people of my generation probably found it boring.

Martin Short's role was overlooked in that movie...I thought he did a fantastic job as Frik (assistant to Morgan LeFey in that movie).
