DodgeBall - would have been really funny if Ben Stiller would have been edited out. He's hard to take.
Man On Fire - a good watch.

Saw Meet the Fockers. Absolutely hilarious...probably one of the funniest movies I've seen this year.

Collateral---enjoyable yet disappointing considering Michael Mann's track record...the acting, dialogue and character development were great but the story was weak, not to mention highly improbable....Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx did top notch work...the more I see of Jamie Foxx the more I like what I see--he's not just a comic goofball but does serious roles very very well...worth renting from your local DVD store but not worth buying

Stepford Wives. Not worth the rental cost.

ageed!...watched that particuliar piece of **** last week. Do you have "Netflix" up your way garnet?....makes a bad rental much more palatable if you watch a lot of movies as you are paying a monthly fee for as many movies as you can watch and return. I find it less than my weekly pilgrimages to blockbuster were (and more convenient as well...no late fees ).

No, we don't have such a thing here. Sounds like a good idea if you watch a lot of movies. We have a very small video store about 5 miles from me......the nearest Blockbuster is 50 miles. Talk about living in the "sticks".

Have to disagree with you there KT. The best Christmas movie ever made is Scrooge.

That's the ORIGINAL one. The first screen adaptation. British, 1951, black-and-white, googly-eyed Alastair Sim and all that.

I know there have been a thousand adaptations since (IMHO this is the most adapted story ever), but this one is the best.

I actually only saw A Christmas Story a few years ago for the first time. Not bad, but I found most of it had very little to do with Christmas.

Humbug!

[Actually, scratch what I said. The best Christmas movie ever made is A Child's Christmas in Wales. You probably have never seen this in the States. But it's yet another example of IMDB vote tampering - it's rated 5.0 but the arithmetic mean is 8.5?]

I'm so sorry that you are wrong about that. But.....if you must watch a Scrooge story, then THIS one is MUCH better than that original one.

Ya know....I never saw It's A Wonderful Life until a few years ago and when I did (good movie, by the way), I had to ask myself one question. WHY is it considered a Christmas movie? It happens to end on Christmas, but other than that one scene the movie has nothing to do with Christmas at all.

Today went up and watched The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. What a wonderful movie. Smart comedy in full swing. It was great. Some of the aquatic life computer animation was a bit cheesy, but I'm quite certain that was intended...it just fits the style of the movie perfectly. Reminds me of why Bill Murray has always been my favorite comic actor!

Oh....and the soundtrack is brilliant. The David Bowie songs sung in portugese with a folk style was just oddly perfect for the movie too.
