An incredible tragedy but entertaining nonetheless.

We also watched a diaper load of feces titled "Shoot "em Up" with the generally excellent Clive Owen, though even he couldn't save this study of bovine scatology.
One of the worst films (and I do mean "film", like that you'd see in a petri dish) I have ever seen.

"3:10 to Yuma", the remake with Christan Bale and Russell Crowe, was excellent. It may well become one of my favorite, all-time westerns. An intelligent story with Crowe's Ben Wade being particularly well drawn, this is a must-see for any western fan.
My wife andI really enjoyed 3:10 to Yuma also, it was fun getting to enjoy a Good Old Western again!!!!!

I watched Tombstone-Director's Cut for the first time on our new HDTV week before last. I still cried when Doc died.
My all time, number one favorite movie.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good. I would like to have seen more of the sabretooth tiger, the Egyptian city and more background information on these people.

Odd, because the film's marketing looked like that's exactly what they were shooting for...a "mainstream thing".

Pop culture is not the study of anthropological things.

Pop culture in movies is big explosions, lots of killing and blood, superheros, etc.

Yeah the marketing slanted it. LOOK AT THE SABERTOOTH TIGER! IT"S GOING TO KILL AND EAT PEOPLE! BLOOD! BLOOD! BLOOD! etc.

But it wasn't about that at all (although it did have its makings of a legendary hero). It was an excellent movie.

Re: What movie did you just see?

"10,000 B.C." is from the same writer/director/producer that gave us "Godzilla", "Independence Day" and "The Day After Tomorrow" and all these films were the essence of pop culture, so I kind of assumed he'd gone the same way with this one.
Nothing against pop culture - some of my favorite movies were inspired by it, or helped to define it, but I didn't care for any of his previous work, although "The Patriot" had its moments. I liked the bloody parts.

A great film. It certainly deserved its "Best Picture" Oscar.

I love this exchange:
The Schofield Kid: "Yeah, well, I guess he had it comin'."
Bill Munny: "We all got it comin'..."

That was probably one of the best delivered lines I've seen.
