Who else hates Steven Segal???

This thread sparked from a post in another thread and I thought it would make great discussion.

I have never seen a Steven Segal movie that I liked. Why? Maybe it's b/c he criticizes other "martial arts" actors such as Jet Li, Chuck Norris, etc. He did say in an interview that they're not "real martial arts experts" b/c they don't do they're own stunts/work. They have stand-ins. I forgot, you Steven Segal are the next Bruce Lee..........

Or maybe it's his all black, Johnny Cash wannabe clothing. Or, his other movies, he wears all his Indian clothing. What the heck, is he Indian, or just loves to imitate country music legends?

Or just maybe it's his voice. Is it just me, or does he always talk in a low tone like some young kid who's looking at his dad's nudie mags with his buddies and doesn't wanna get caught?

Perhaps it could be his, "I'm holier than thou" crap he pulls in ever movie. He's either doing his exercises, or Ti Chi or however you spell it, and trys to teach little jimmy or suzy a life lesson. It's like PBS funded the movie or something. Blah!

So, these are just my opinions and ramblings. I just thought it would be funny. Share your thoughts about the worlds worst actor. Now where's my katana sword........................

Well...whatever his perceived flaws, you gotta love his music though!

He rocks!

Segal has earned a 5th level Dan standing in Aikido. And thats definatly not easy. I have to agree with disliking him for a lot of things. But i have much respect for that. He is presently a 7th lvl dan but 6 and 7 are both honerary position unless i'm mistaken.

It has been a long time since I have seen a Steven Segal movie. I have no idea what he is like off-screen. Onscreen, he plays an arrogant, aggressive, talented martial artist who is tired of the crap and does it very well. If I found myself in an alley facing some undesirable people, I would want him on my side.

PS: I found him a whole lot more enjoyable to watch than Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, or Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Steven Seagal, one of the world’s most popular motion picture actors, hasn’t finished surprising us yet ! “Songs from the Crystal Cave” is a true gift to us. His love for music, and especially American Black Music, has grown together with his passion for the guitar, which he has been playing since the age of 14.
Quote:
These 14 tracks show us Steven Seagal as he has never been seen. The overwhelming reaction of the public (and media) to the album leaves no doubt that Steven Seagal is a consummate musician, a true sensitive, open-minded, honest artist, whose musical career is just starting.

I agree Cogar! This thread seems to be a little petty, but I'll play along. His long standing dispute with Chuck Norris is because Norris called Segal a p*ssy on a talk show for carrying a concealed weapon. Let's put together a bout between the two and make some money! I liked some of his earlier movies but after a while they all seem to be the same plot one way or the other. To be honest though, I think Segal would have an excellant chance of kicking Norris' but both acting and/or fighting.

I never knew that...I just got more respect for him....his martial arts skills never really impressed me that much in his movies but maybe that's because he is less flashy and flexible then some of the "bigger" martial arts superstars such as Jet Li/Tony Jaa who really like to "show off" their acrobatic moves while Segal likes to play it simple

I must say Chuck Norris' best role to date has been in the movie Dodgeball.

as far as van damme goes, hes got cult classics: bloodsport, kickboxer, and lionheart

oh and jackie chan should not even be mentioned here bc he is on another plane of existence then all these clowns. hes a legend in martial arts, these guys are all one hit wonder clowns.

Segals got like one: Under Siege

Haaaaaaaaa! "He's Fat". That's hillarious. Ok, so yes, my ramblings do seem a little petty. Yes, he could kill me with one finger, I'll admit that. He just seems so.....cheesy. Come on, you gotta admit that. He's playing guitar in a Komono (or something like that) for goodness sakes.

That picture was great.

I don't know what levels of "dan" or whatever that is, but he does have skill. I'll give him that. Is there anyone here who could create a flash program of Norris vs Segal??

About Van Damne. Yes, he's a little cheesy too. It's always the same story line too. He's freaking ripped though. I did like him in blood sport.

Bofin? Where's Bofin? I'm sure he's got something to say about this.

Seagalls are a pain. They are loud scavengers that make a mess everywhere they go.

Whoops, you were asking about Segal. Segal, Seagall - bah, same thing.
