Creating an Unattended Windows XP CD

Have you ever wanted a Windows XP CD that would install Windows XP by automatically putting in your name, product key, timezone and regional settings? Followed by silently installing all your favourite applications along with DirectX 9.0b, .Net Framework 1.1 and then all the Pre-SP2 hotfixes, updated drivers, registry tweaks, and a readily patched UXTheme.dll without any user interaction whatsoever? Then this guide will show you how you can do just that!

*** EDIT: Update the link, thanks to DeathDealer for the update ***

I have already downloaded as many knowledge base patches as I can. Not all updates are available for a seperate download, or at least I haven't found them all.

I am going to give it a try shortly though.

A bit of work finding those downloads. Not all of them are available, but I have a good portion of them so far.

An FTP site with them all would be nice.

Windows Update

At this location you can download any one or all of the updates that you choose. Also you pick the O.S. that you want to download for.........

I hope this helps...

You can get all the hotfixes (Pre SP-2) here rolled up into one big zip file.

Thanks Paragon, grabbing it now. Lots of good information tied with that download.

Tinkeer, I don't know why but yesterday I couldn't download those updates if my life depended on it, today it is fine. Weird, but at least it works now.

it will automattically install windows and set it up, i understand that part. but what i don't understand is:
will it delete both partitions on my primary HDD, or will it just delete and install the C:\ portion?
what about the second HDD, will it just ignore it?

As far as I've understood things, it will be unattended from the point of selecting partition on which to install the OS (i.e. you won't need to input language settings and other boring bits of information).

That is, you select the partition and away she goes, finishing with a patched XP version (in case you choose to slipstream all patches also, of course)...
