Crunch Time

With the evident end of XP sales imminent, I am wondering whether to purchase another copy of XP for future use.

My current system has a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo, Intel Bad Axe 2, 2 GB RAM, slowish video (I'm not a gamer), etc. My present XP version is OEM, so I can't move it to another system.

No way will I ever use Vista. I've read too many horror stories. I probably don't want another system until Nehalem.

Questions:
Should I stock up on XP, or wait for post-Vista?

Which XP Pro version can I move from one computer to another?

Any general thoughts?

Re: Crunch Time

Well you have to take into fact that companies are developing more and more software derived for Vista only. Taking that into fact I am going to make the permanent move soon. I woulde't necessarily stock up on it but if you want to buy a copy it should last you for a little bit.

Re: Crunch Time

It souly depends on for what short of needs you use your system.. if it is some thing just for a pleasure and entertainment you can stand by with the current one .. but if you are a hard core development or related to techy you must be futuristic and go for the latest what ever is on the block..

It is nothing that you can deny being switching 2 vista for long enough as it has been mentioned new technology's and tools are being development keeping the current scenario and next gen usage
