Dual-Boot Installation Question

If I were to install 2 OS's i.e XP and Vista on 2 harddrives, should I disconnect a hdd when I install to the other? If I install Vista on another HDD, should I unplug the HDD with XP on it first, or does it matter?

Re: Dual-Boot Installation Question

I'm getting ready to do the samething, when I can afford to get me another 120GB harddrive, reason being is that I have games that won't install, let alone run on Vista 64.

I've looked at dual booting lately, as at the moment I'm not ready to set my system up for it.

Re: Dual-Boot Installation Question

You will want to read the following excellent reference:

Multi-Booting with Windows in an Extended Partition

I'm not sure if Vista handles multibooting in the same manner as XP, but if it does I would say that the answer to your questions is yes. Please see particularly the section headed "What's wrong with the Microsoft way," just below the middle of the page at the link above.
