I'm finally going to move to WinXP Pro

I just found out something cool, my school (The University of Texas at Dallas) sells Win XP Pro Full Version to students for $6 and MS Office XP Pro for $18. Woohoo!!

For that price, how can I resist the urge to use XP?

Just wanted to let you guys know that it seems many colleges have an agreement with Microsoft. Good Deal!

Yeah it is the full version, but I think the student full version expires in 120 days, then you have to cough up the cash.

If this is the case, try this: Load it up and configure it with all your drivers. Get it in good working order then image it. If it expires, you can either reinstall it or load the image.

That makes sense, valid for only 120 days (or a semester)...I'll have to get more info ...

The Software Engineering students at RIT get to download all sorts of neat stuff from MS for free. Of course, tuition isn't cheap.

this is a real bad move you are doing

go for Windows 2000 (my college was selling it for 5$ for a 120 day version and I got over 10 cd from my Microsoft Studying Curriculum (7 big book of over 800 pages)

Windows 2000 > Windows Xp
Windows XP > Windows 98
Windows 3.11 > Windows ME

Btw 120 days is great.. after this you only have to format then your back again for 120 other day

I've used all of those Windows versions, except ME. I wouldn't go back to 2000 from XP for anything.
