| IE7 strangeness Hello. Has anybody come across the following or has an idea what might be going on? The system is XP SP2 (32-bit) with all updates as of today. IE7 used to work fine for up to 2 days ago. Then all of a sudden it started behaving strangely. If I right-click on a link and select 'Open in New Window', the new window never appears (no new iexplore tasks start up either). If I right-click on a link and select 'Open in New Tab', the new tab gets created but instead of loading anything, it gets hung with a 'connecting' message. If I try to 'Save Target As' (say, an image on the current page), it claims that 'my current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded'. If I save the same image as 'Save Picture As', it has no problem. I haven't touched my security settings for months. I haven't installed any software for the last couple of weeks. Registry settings show that downloads are enabled. IE settings allow everything. The firewall (Outpost) isn't blocking anything. Trojan scans don't come up with anything. What might cause something like that? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

| I observe similar incidents with my PC too recently. Sometimes, when I want to download a documents attached in my Google account, there is an error message that the security has forbidden my action !?? But, sometimes, after a day or two, suddenly I can download them. It looks like the "read-only, no-next-action, no-option" type

| Thank you. I found the fix on a Microsoft article: h**p://support.microsoft.com/kb/281679 Reregistering Urlmon.dll and the other DLLs mentioned in the article fixed the problem. |

| Thank you for the link. But for me, the problem continues after following the fix from the link. I do not have time now, so I will look back later.
