| No Icons/start menu in XP?? need help! A good friend has problem? Only boots to desktop picture-no icons/start menu? Yesterday I booted to last good known config thru safe mode and then ran McAfee which found a few files which it deleted and quarnteened 1, then it all seemed fine I can't seem to get anywhere with this machine! What is going on????TIA!

| Re: No Icons/start menu in XP?? need help! Sounds like explorer.exe isn't starting. Try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del or Ctrl+Shift+Esc, opening Task Manager and checking if explorer.exe is running in the task list. If not, then try run it through there - File/New Task (Run...).

| Re: No Icons/start menu in XP?? need help! I believe I got it! Seems they had this Logitech wireless mouse that was the culprit? I removed it and everything seems to be working/booting just fine now-Yeah!
