| Stupid Wireless K/board question If I am going for a clean install of windows xp home, can I use my wireless k/b and mouse or do I have to go get my old k/b and mouse out of the cupboard and go through the install with that? I'm kinda thinking that the drivers for the wireless k/b and mouse won't be installed until after xp is loaded...right? ![]()

| Re: Stupid Wireless K/board question I just went through this. I just bought a wireless keyboard and loaded the software for it. The keyboard uses an USB stick Bluetooth receiver (also works for the wireless mouse that came with the keyboard). I rebooted the pc and instead going into the motherboard screen, I get an error message - it seems the pc DOES NOT detect a keyboard plugged into the PS/2 port so it won't boot up. I have to leave my old keyboard plugged into the PS/2 port so my pc can boot up. After Windows XP loads and I get to the Welcome screen then I can use the wireless keyboard. It's dammed annoying. |

| Re: Stupid Wireless K/board question If the keyboard/mouse came with its own USB dongle then it should work. As SRTDodge said, you need to enable USB Legacy support in the BIOS. If the keyboard/mouse dont have a USB dongle and connect using your Laptop/PC's bluetooth, then it wont work until the Bluetooth drivers are installed.
